Defunct Canadian post-hardcore legends Alexisonfire sent shockwaves all over the internet earlier today when they posted a photo on their Instagram account teasing something for Monday March 9th.

The image includes the bands logo and the date “03/09/2015”. It is worth noting that guitarist Dallas Green shared the image through his City and Colour account. Green’s decision to focus on his solo project was cited as one of the main reasons for the bands split in 2011. In addition Wade MacNeil’s departure to join Gallows was another reason for the split.

Alexisonfire last played together in late 2012 as they played several farewell shows including dates in London. A limited vinyl boxset consisting of all of their albums, EP’s and more was released in late 2013.

Since then MacNeil has continued to work with Gallows and will be releasing their new album, ‘Desolution Sounds’ on April 13th. Dallas Green has been keeping busy too. 2013 saw the release of his fourth City and Colour album, ‘The Hurry and the Harm’ and he followed it up last year by collaborating with Alecia Moore aka Pink on a folk music project called You+Me. Their debut LP, ‘rose ave.’ was released last October and entered the UK Album Chart at number 10. Finally main vocalist George Pettit formed a hardcore punk band called Dead Tired. Their debut full-length is set to be released in May.

Apologies for the somewhat awkward headline but like the rest of the world, we don’t know what the band has planned until this coming Monday. We will definitely let you know what is when we find out.
