Last month Laurie Cottingham and Marty Ryan travelled throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland on a Already Heard sponsored UK tour. Whilst in Edinburgh, the duo respectively known as Brightr and Anna’s Anchor took some time out to record an “AH Session” each.
Laurie was up first as he showcased a cut from his favourable debut album (‘Year One’) with a track called ‘Like Paper.’
Laurie also had this to say about the session:
“The song is called ‘Like Paper’ and comes from my album ‘Year One’. Lyrically it’s all about when I found out I was going to be a father and the mixture of panic and elation I felt. It’s a song I’ve never performed in a session before, most likely because it has crazy high notes, but it’s become such a firm favourite of mine to play live I thought I’d give it a go, battling through the after effects of Aberdeen deep-fried pizza and lack of sleep.”
