Brought together over a drunken night dancing to Madonna (we’ve all been there, right?), Bad Idea are “ex-friends and current partners” Sarah Sefton and Daniel Johnson. Together they write scuzzy, lo-fi grunge-pop.
Next Friday, the Leeds-based duo will be releasing their debut EP, ‘You’re So Cool’, through Circle House Records and Honeypot Records. Over the course of its three songs, Sarah and Daniel produce a well-balanced mix of lush chords and catchy hooks with hints of mutual affection shimmering underneath. As a preview of what to expect from the EP, we’re premiering the closing track – ‘Blossom’.
“’Blossom’ is a song about growing up without resentment, both personally and romantically; to move on and hold no grudges,” the couple tells us. Undoubtedly, the track is a fine example of what Bad Idea are all about; fuzzy guitars, and harmonious duel vocals wrapped in a pleasing lo-fi, DIY ball.
‘You’re So Cool’ EP by Bad Idea is released on 8th December on Circle House Records and Honeypot Records.
