On their forthcoming debut album, ‘The Exigent’, London quartet Only Echoes Remain neatly blend elements of post-metal, prog and post-rock to create a cohesive narrative taking you on an emotional journey.
Their latest single, ‘Of Stone and Stars’ ebbs and flows between atmospheric, tranquil moments and a compelling, brazen wall of sound, full of dynamic twists. If you’re a fan of bands such as This Will Destroy You, Russian Circles, Sigur Ros and Karnivool, then Only Echoes Remain are sure to be a band to keep an eye on. Today, Already Heard has the exclusive first play of ‘Of Stone and Stars’.
“’Of Stone and Stars’ is the final song on the album, and where many of the previous tracks are fraught with danger, loneliness and loss, this last song suggests a degree of hope,” says the band. “Here big guitar riffs and high-energy sections, punctuated by moments of delicate reflection, tell the story of one lone explorer’s battle for survival. While he may well succeed in the short term, ultimately he finds himself stranded on a strange and unfamiliar world – how long can he really last?”
‘The Exigent’ by Only Echoes Remain is released on 16th June.
