As we begin to look forward to 2017, today we’re premiering ‘What If’, a new track from Stray Weather. Originally started as a spoken word project by Mikey Brown (former AH Assistant Editor), he has now joined up with Sam Sydes, Ste Quinn and Dan Smith. Together they’ve produced an EP titled ‘Tragedy’, which takes Brown’s words and combines them with ambient electronica.
‘What If’ sets the mood for the EP as Brown takes an introspective look at a past relationship and questions it’s importance against life’s bigger mysteries.
“I started writing ‘Tragedy in November 2013 and all the songs are to do with relationships and various failed ‘romances’ I’d encountered, hence the title ‘Tragedy’ as I tend to make things into something much bigger than what they are/were,” explains Mikey. “’What If’ is the perfect example of that, sizing up "what if” questions I had for this girl and placing them alongside other, much larger, grandiose scale situations.“
‘What If’ is taken from ‘Tragedy’ by Stray Weather is released on January 21st.
