Already Heard Video Premiere: Love|Less – The Lonely (Acoustic)

London alt rockers Love|Less had an impressive 2015. Emerging with their ‘Hollow Faith’ EP, the quintet showcased an infectious sound that contained elements of punk-rock and post-pop. Alongside building a loyal fanbase through several self-booked shows, they rounded off the year touring Europe with US screamo band Alesana.

Now as they bring the ‘Hollow Faith’ EP chapter to an end, Love|Less are set to treat fans to a set of reworked songs in the form of ‘The Acoustics’ EP. To mark the annoucement, Already Heard is premiering the first of a series of videos from the EP. The new version of ‘The Lonely’ is stripped down and puts a more harmonious spin in the song. Take a look of the reworked take of the track and read on as we grabbed a quick word with guitarist Joe.

AH: It seems like the band have grown over the past year with the ‘Hollow Faith’ EP and now you’re releasing a series of acoustic videos. How did the idea to take the acoustic route come about?
Joe: We had just finished up our tour around Europe with Alesana and decided we wanted to do something special to finish of the campaign surrounding the ‘Hollow Faith’ EP. It’s always been a desire for us as a group to perform our songs in this manner and we finally had the chance and abilities to do so.

AH: We’re premiering the video for ‘The Lonely’. This stripped down version has a different energy compared to the original. What approach did you to take when it came to re-working the track?
Joe: Around the time when we were rehearsing for the acoustics, we felt slowing the tempo down and applying a more open feel to track displayed it in a different light. A side to the track that may not be apparent on the original, more upbeat version. This allowed for a different emotion to breathe within the recording that we really attached to.

AH: So far you’ve done everything by yourself; self-funding tours and recording time. What lessons have you learned from being a self-efficient band?
Joe: A greater understanding of the industry through trial and error. This has helped us grow and plan for future decisions.

AH: Despite the release of the acoustic EP, we hear a full-length album is expected later this year. What can you tell us about it?
Joe: I can’t say too much at the moment, however our fans can expect more music released from us in a non-conventional way throughout the year. We are really excited to put the final touches to our plans and begin the next phase of Love|Less.
