As a result of our ongoing agenda to support up and coming talent, we’ve featured emerging UK pop-punks On The Open Road on Already Heard a few times. Today we’re premiering their new video for ‘This Is Goodbye (I Tried)’.
Taken from their latest EP, ‘Storyteller’, the track sees the Nottingham quartet deliver three and a half minutes of dense pop-punk. While lyrically it sees vocalist/guitarist Tom Hawk take a retrospective look at his relationship with his dad, yet as he explains, the track is open to interpretation:
“The song was written almost two years ago and it is about the struggles my family and I had with my father. The way I wrote this song was so that anyone could relate to it; I didn’t want it to be a song that is 100% about my dad. I wanted it to be relatable to anyone who is going through a difficult time with a certain person in their life, whether it be a family member, a loved one or a friend. This song is for everyone.”
As for the video itself, Tom had this to say:
“The music video for ‘This Is Goodbye (I Tried)’ was filmed inside an old mill, in Stockport, by the talented Zak Pinchin. It was our first time working with him and it was an absolute pleasure, he was easy to work with and we are so happy with how the video turned out.
