Last year, Plymouth quartet Patrons left a lasting impression by delivering one of the best, if not underrated, debut albums of 2017 in ‘As Above, So Below’. With an abundance of riffs, big choruses, and heartfelt lyrics, there is a lot to like about Patrons.
Now 12 months on from ‘As Above, So Below’, they’ve returned with a new single. ‘Deathbed’ is an explosive punch of post-hardcore with a lyrically intense undertone. Complimented by its rollercoaster tempo, vocalist/guitarist Danny Brooks pours out his emotions with conviction.
“’Deathbed’ was an important song for me personally,” explains Danny. “Almost 2 years ago I became a father, which was the greatest moment of my life. But due to complications, my wife became very ill and has been ever since. We have spent most of the last couple of years in and out of hospital, and the song deals with the fears, frustrations and helplessness of some of our darkest moments.”
‘Deathbed’ by Patrons is out now (Spotify|Apple Music).
