While Nottingham pop-rockers As December Falls won’t be releasing their new album, ‘Everything’s On Fire But I’m Fine’, until August, that has stopped them sharing another track from it. ‘For The Plot’ is described as a “deliciously vengeful anthem” yet maintains the quartet’s anthemic nouse with confidence.
For vocalist Bethany Hunter, the song was written as a morale-raising number for her best friend.
“I’m sure everyone has a chaotic best friend but mine wins as the most chaotic” says Bethany Hunter about the inspiration for the new single. “We were on the Join The Club tour at the end of 2023 and I received a voice-note from her, saying that she’d found out her boyfriend had cheated on her so, for the plot, she slept with his best mate and blocked her ex on everything. He then proceeded to email her over 100 times and she yelled on the voice note “who sends a fucking email!?” When we got back from tour, I wrote the song for her as an uplifting “fuck your ex” anthem!”
The release of ‘For The Plot’ follows last month’s single – ‘Therapy’. While UK fans can catch As December Falls supporting RØRY alongside Lake Malice next month. Full details can be found below.
‘Everything’s On Fire But I’m Fine’will be released through the band’s own label ADF Records (via Virgin Records) on August 8th.
