Recently, Oklahoma quartet Ben Quad shared plans that they would be releasing a new EP called ‘Ephemera’ later this month through  Pure Noise Records. Today, as a sneak preview they have shared its title track.

It sees the four-piece deliver another volatile track with a chaotic undercurrent riding throughout. “This song is the boiling point of the record,” stated Ben Quad. “All beauty and happiness in the world seem to be tainted by capitalism (“Why does every flower wilt away?”). We, as victims of a negligent system, can only ask ourselves why we continue to accept perpetual cruelty. The final chorus of the record is a proclamation that we are nothing more than disposable in the eyes of our supposed protectors.”

‘Ephemera’ will be released on October 25th

‘Ephemera’ Lyrics

This world is what you give and take,
And I have given everything

(Why) does every flower wilt away
(I watched you) I watched you ruin everything
(I feel) stuck inside the mess you made

Spill me open and see my future
Leave me here to clean my sutures

What do you want me to say
If you won’t even look at my face
Why would you want me to stay
If my life all burns up into flames
What do you want me to say
If you won’t even look at my face
Why would you want me to stay
If this all burns up

Ephemera
(We were made to throw away)
Ephemera
(We were made to throw away)
Ephemera
(We were made to throw away)
Ephemera
(We were made to throw away)
Ephemera
