Chase and Status (Saul Milton and Will Kennard) have announced plans to open a free music school.

The school will be for students aged 16-19 with courses from music performance to music technology, and will be based in the Tower Hamlets area of East London.

The East London Academy of Music is a Brit School project and is supported by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI)

The school is due to open in September 2014 and is one of 35 projects that have been announced the New Schools Network, a government-funded charity body that offers financial and organisational assistance to a people looking to set up free schools independently.
