Coheed and Cambria closed out 2024 with details of their forthcoming new album, ‘The Father of Make Believe’. With the album set to be released on March 14th, the rock four-piece has given fans another teaser in the form of ‘Someone Who Can’.
Considered to be the band’s “most accessible song”, the track is a rose-tinted number that is musically reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen. Lyrically it leans into the personal lyrical nature that Coheed and Cambria‘s Claudio Sanchez explores on ‘The Father of Make Believe’. “When you’re growing up, you’re perpetually trying to understand the world that’s changing around you,” he shares. “Over time, it’s comforting to reach the conclusion that you’ll never truly have things figured out.”
Sanchez also released a collection of covers titled ‘Claudio Covers’ late last year.
The nostalgic vibes are maintained in ‘Someone Who Can’s video. The Mason Mercer-directed video sees actors relive Coheed and Cambria‘s early days in and around their hometown of Nyack, New York.
Following the release of ‘The Father of Make Believe’ through Virgin on March 14th, Coheed and Cambria will be back in the UK in the summer as one of 2000trees Festival‘s five headliners. It will precede their North American co-headline summer tour with fellow 2000trees headliners, Taking Back Sunday.
