Coheed & Cambria have released a previously unreleased song – ‘The Joke’. The track was recorded during the sessions for their 2022 album, ‘Vaxis – Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind’.
On the track, Coheed & Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez. shared “The meaning behind The Joke is basically “if you need a punching bag, I’ll be that guy.” The video for the track sees Coheed & Cambria dive back into the ‘The Amory Wars’ universe, as it sees fan favourite character “Al The Killer” being bullied by a nefarious prankster.
It’s accompanied by a remixed and remasted version of ‘Deranged’. Originally released as part of the ‘Batman: Arkham City’ soundtrack in 2011. The track hones in on the co-dependent relationship between Batman and The Joker.
