Leicester melodic punk newcomers dead nice have unleashed their debut track – ‘Occupier’.

It’s lifted from the quintet’s forthcoming three-track EP, ‘Obscene’. It’s set to be released on Friday, 13th October with a free hometown release show at The Soundhouse, Leicester the following day.

As for ‘Occupier’, the track sees dead nice serve up a rousing slice of sturdy punk rock, utilising Alexisonfire and Stray From The Path as influences.

The three tracks on ‘Obscene’ are loosely based on the concept of an island that gets cut off from the mainland every night. ‘Occupier’ sees the concept’s character carrying regrets and throwing the towel in.

“The lyrics to ‘Occupier’ are written from the perspective of someone being left alone, throwing caution to the wind, and running riot after making a series of mistakes,”  explained dead nice vocalist John Conyers. “It’s a song about letting go, not wanting to be saved and giving up.”

dead nice‘s roots lie in lifelong friendships in Leicester’s music community. Conyers along with Mike Manger, Ed Bramford and Edd Stockton previously played together in Freefallfelix. The line-up is completed by producer Dave Tidmarsh.
