With their new album, ‘Lonely People With Power’, set to be released in just over a month, Deafheaven have shared its second single – ‘Heathen’.
After ‘Magnolia’ indicated a return to Deafheaven‘s ferocious brand of “blackgaze”, ‘Heathen’ teases a mellow sound. Its alluring build is reminiscent of 2021’s shoegaze-leaning ‘Infinite Granite’. However, it explodes into a tornado of guttural screams and soaring, heavy guitars.
