Download Festival Preview: Aaron Keylock

As the road to Download Festival becomes shorter by the day, we will be speaking to a whole host of acts from this years festival about what to expect from them at Download 2015.

What were you doing when you were 17? Still in school? Working some crappy job? Probably both right. For Aaron Keylock that’s not the case. The young guitar virtuoso will be making his Download debut later this month.

Despite his tender age, Keylock brings a heavy 70’s rock n roll vibe to Download with his blues-y brand of rock. He’ll be playing on Jake’ Stage (the fourth stage) at Download on Sunday 14th June where he’ll be sharing the stage with Suicidal Tendencies, Fidlar, Chelsea Grin and Butcher Babies.

AH: Why should fans check you out at Download?
Aaron: Because it’ll be a fresh exciting rock/blues performance. It will be full of adrenaline because it will be the highlight of my career so far. We’ve done heavy rock festivals before, we did Bloodstock last year which was great! I was a bit worried how my brand of blues was going to go down after looking at the line up, but everyone seemed to appreciate it and enjoy what I did!

AH: What can we expect from your set?
Aaron: We will be hitting the stage hard and heavy with a good time rock ‘n’ roll show.

AH: What other bands are you looking forward to seeing?
Aaron: It’ll be good to see Blackberry Smoke again and also The Cadillac Three both of whom I have toured with before. Also really looking forward to seeing people like Slash who has been a huge influence on me as a player and a musician.

AH: What are your memories of previous Download Festivals?
I’m a Download virgin! I have seen a lot of footage and heard great/scary stories about it.

AH: What advice would you give to people attending Download Festival?
Aaron: Have a good time and enjoy the good music!

Aaron Keylock will be playing on Jake’s Stage at 6:30pm on Sunday June 14th.
