Download Festival Preview: Pop Evil

As the road to Download Festival becomes shorter by the day, we will be speaking to a whole host of acts from this years festival about what to expect from them at Download 2015.

Making your Download Festival debut on the main stage can be a nervous experience but for Michigan quintet Pop Evil it will come as second nature. Having shared the stage with names such as Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Killswitch Engage, Escape The Fate and Trivium in the past, Pop Evil will be at home on the big stage.

Now having enjoyed three consecutive number one singles in the States, Pop Evil arrive at Download ahead of the release of their latest album ‘UP’. Pop Evil’s brand of catchy hard rock is the perfect opener as they kick off the final day of Download. We recently spoke to vocalist Leigh Kakaty to ask him about their expectations for Download 2015.

AH: Why should fans check you out at Download?
Leigh: Because it’s our first time ever playing Download so are energy is definitely going to be at our highest level.

AH: What can we expect from your set?
Leigh: We are known for our live show so you can expect we will be bringing our A game considering our NEW album and 1st time appearance at Download.

AH: What other bands are you looking forward to seeing?
Leigh: Tough question. We hope to catch any of the great bands playing. My day is so busy I’ll be lucky to catch anything. I hope I get some down time to enjoy the experience.

AH: What are your memories of previous Download Festivals?
Leigh: None. Can’t wait to make some!

AH: What advice would you give to people attending Download Festival?
Leigh: Be open minded to new music. New music is the FUTURE of Rock and Metal. We need your help. We need your support. Let’s have fun and embrace this gathering of Rock n Roll Brothers and Sisters.

AH: Do you have anything else you’d like to say?
Leigh: Check out our new album ‘UP’ coming out this summer! Peace, Luv, Pop Evil.

Pop Evil will be appearing on the main stage at 11:00am on Sunday June 14th.
