Download Preview Interview: Hands Like Houses

As the road to the Download Festival becomes shorter by the day, we will be speaking to a whole host of acts from this years festival about what to expect from them at Download 2015.

Hands Like Houses are one of several Australian bands; with In Hearts Wake and Northlane being the others, making the trip to Donington for Download next week. However they are no strangers to these shores have supported Bury Tomorrow last year. Since then they’ve been in the studio with producer James Paul Wisner working on their third full-length.

The Canberra band recently released a track called ‘I Am’ as a teaser. The track hints at the bands most energetic work to date with superb vocals from Trenton Woodley. Hands Like Houses will follow up their appearance at Download by spending the rest of summer on the Vans Warped Tour.

We spoke to Alexander Pearson to find out what we can expect from HLH at Download 2015.

AH: Why should fans check you out at Download?
Alexander: We’re basically a high energy rock band looking to have some fun on stage and vibe off the crowd! Plus we’ve got Australian accents if that’s your thing haha.

AH: What can we expect from your set?
Alexander:
Lots of laughing! Mostly just some good old fashioned sing a longs and pin jumping!

AH: What other bands are you looking forward to seeing?
Alexander: There’s a fair few friends bands on the bill! Looking forward to seeing In Hearts Wake and Northlane and of course definitely don’t want to miss Kiss!

AH: What are your memories of previous Download Festivals?
Alexander: This is going to be our first time playing the festival so we’re all pretty excited about it! Ask the same question next year and we’ll have some tales to tell!

AH: What advice would you give to people attending Download Festival?
Alexander: Come along with an open mind and a good vibe! Don’t spend the whole day on your phones, you’re paying money to be there so crowd surf till you’re paralyzed!

Hands Like Houses will be appearing on the Maverick Stage at 1:45pm on Saturday June 13th.
