At the back end of 2014 West Country 5 piece Empire revealed they would be releasing 3 singles throughout 2015 that would eventually lead to a mini-album. They’ve now revealed the first single from the series.
‘Patchwork and Bone’ can be heard after the jump below and proves to be a powerful slice of straight-up rock that captures the bands mature and anthemic approach.
Vocalist Joe Green passed on this comment about the track:
“This song is about raising questions then trying to understand them – when that happens you tend to really bring your hypothetical questions to life, by you or someone else taking them literally. This song isn’t about just people connecting with my real life situations I have experienced, but its about giving the people who listen to it and chance to become the interpreter. We want people to connect to it in their own way and we think the music and lyrics give people that opportunity.”
The single will be released digitally on February 16th and will coincide with a headline UK tour. The bands second mini-album, ‘Our Simple Truths’ is set to be released in September.
