Every Hell Drop Debut Single – ‘Freaking Out’

Every Hell

Meet Every Hell. It’s the new “Doom Pop” collective consisting of members of Black Peaks, Dvne and Broker. With appearances at 2000trees and ArcTanGent pencilled in for next summer, I have a feeling you’ll be hearing plenty of them in the coming months. Today, they released their debut single – ‘Freaking Out’.

Led by saxophone-wielding vocalist Will Gardner, ‘Freaking Out’ pounds together the quartet’s various influences to create an irresistible and chaotic sound. Alongside Garnder’s familiar vocals, there’s fellow ex-Black Peaks member Andrew Gosden teaming up with Mark Roberts (ex-Broker) to serve up a meaty rhythmic rumble on bass and drums respectively. Guitarist Evelyn May (ex-Dvne) completes rip-roaring number with a scorching display.

“I began writing ‘Freaking Out’ in the middle of the bleak Winter lockdown of 2020. I’d initially written the skeleton of it, along with the hooks and chorus melodies. I met with other musicians to try these ideas out, and the first jam that started this band was actually originally with Mark (Roberts – drums/production) and Jamie Lenman,” explains  Gardener. “It wasn’t until Andrew (Godson – bass) and Evelyn (May -guitar/keyboards) joined the band that it all came together though, and Freaking Out really came to life. It was after changing from a different key into Evelyn’s low tuning, evolving the song completely as a band, and adding her crushing riff at the end that the song really felt complete.”

“We worked so hard on making Freaking Out what it is today, and it’s going to be both a relief and joy to finally get this one out into the world and share with the world.”

The single was recorded and produced by Peter Miles at Middle Farm Studios and mixed in-house by Mark Roberts.

Every Hell will be releasing a debut EP in the spring of 2024.
