Fives: Energy’s 5 Reasons To Be Back in the UK

Having made their UK debut earlier this year when they joined Creeper for their sold out run, Boston gloom punks Energy have returned to these shores, but this time they’re headlining. Joined by Southampton’s Miss Vincent, both bands will be taking over venues up and down the country in the coming days.

For Energy, it’s a chance to showcase tracks from their new EP – ‘Under The Mask’. Dominated by sombre, horror-esque lyrics, the infectious six-track set picks up where January’s ‘Apparition Sound’ LP left off.

Before they packed their bags for a second visit to the UK this year, we asked frontman Jason “TANK” Tankerly to give us five reasons why Energy are excited to be back in the UK.

Miss Vincent

We’re really looking forward to hitting the road with Miss Vincent. We’re big fans of their sound and have heard nothing but good things about them as people.

Familiar Faces

Hopefully seeing a lot of familiar faces from our last time coming through. We met so many amazing people while we were over there, and it’s going to be so much fun seeing them all again.

New Cities

Playing all these interesting new venues in new cities every night. Even though we’ve been there already now, there is still so much left for us to see and experience!

Favourite Fans

Putting on the best show we possibly can for our favorite fans in the world. We really want people to go home the night of each show, not only knowing that they’ll definitely be returning when we come through again, but that they might even tell a friend or two about us.

New Songs

And of course, last but not least, we can’t wait for everyone to hear the new songs live! It’s going to feel so amazing to be able to play brand new material for people. We all just hope everyone digs it!
