Seattle-based outfit Great Grandpa have released their second single of the year – ‘Doom’ through Run For Cover Records.

With its odd time signatures giving the track a hypnotic feel, alongside its heavy guitars reminiscent of their early work, ‘Doom’ sees the quintet border on the edge of the prog/math-rock spectrum.

It follows this past summer’s single, ‘Kid’, which marked Great Grandpa‘s return after five years away. Following 2019’s ‘Four of Arrows’, the members of Great Grandpa found themselves in different places (and jobs), leaving the future of the band up in the air. However, as vocalist Al Menne simply explained ‘“Time passed and I missed my friends.”

Now with new material out in the open, alongside shows lined up in the coming weeks and months, Great Grandpa are looking to embark on a new chapter.
