Last year, Aric Improta and Stephen Harrison debuted their latest project – House of Protection. The former Fever 333 duo quickly developed a reputation with their impressive debut EP, ‘GALORE’. Now having completed a recent Australian tour alongside Bad Omens and Poppy, House of Protection have shared details of their second EP. It’s called ‘Outrun You All’ and will be released through Red Bull Records on May 23rd.

Like its predecessor, Improta and Harrison collaborate with producer Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon) and Nick DePirro (Night Verses). ‘Outrun You All’ is considered to be a companion piece to ‘GALORE’ and “a completion to an era of unbridled inspiration and creativity”. On ‘GALORE’, the duo founded a borderless cocktail of hardcore, electronica, and punk with hints of hip-hop. ‘Outrun You All’ looks to maintain that trend with new single, ‘Afterlife’. Pulling back from the chaotic nature of ‘It’s Supposed To Hurt,’ ‘Afterlife’ mashes together steely electronica with Harrison’s distorted and Improta’s brazen drums.

“‘Afterlife’ was the second song we demoed, right after “It’s Supposed to Hurt”. It started with just the guitar stab and the whip sound. We liked it a lot, but ultimately, we pushed to avoid heavy half-time on ‘GALORE’,” House  of Protection explained. “We intentionally wanted to keep that whole first EP pretty fast. After our debut shows, we realized how much we missed the feeling live, so we revisited it and refined the ideas with Jordan and Nick. Now it’s one of our favourites.”

The single’s video captures its twisting nature consisting of mind-bending visuals, performance shots, and a rubber-suited dominatrix.
