Post-hardcore outfit L.S. Dunes have confirmed their second album will be released in early 2025. The record is titled ‘Violet’ and will be released through Fantasy Records on January 31st.

Like 2022’s debut, ‘Past Lives’, it sees the quintet work with producer Will Yip. However, ‘Violet’ promises to expand the band’s palette, leaning into an optimistic tone. For vocalist Anthony Green, it allowed the opportunity to “celebrate music” and create music that carried itself with hope. Reflecting on ‘Past Lives’ closing track, ‘Sleep Cult’ and its significant “Sorry that I wish that I was dead” lyric, Green wanted to counter that by making an album that highlights “the transformative power” of music.

As for expanding the band’s musical depth, guitarist Travis Stever considers ‘Violet’ as “a sonic journey into the depths of every band member of L.S. Dunes”. Having toured in the time since ‘Past Lives’ release, the connection between Green, Stever, guitarist Frank Iero, bassist Tim Payne, and drummer Tucker Rule, has grown stronger. As Travis comments, it’s allowed L.S. Dunes to be more collaborative, stating It’s the album that has always lived in us individually but could only be made together. It has melodies that have lived within me since I was a child. It was only with this band I would be able to find a place where they could find a home in song.”

The announcement of ‘Violet’ is complemented by the release of a new single, ‘Machines’. Led by Green’s distinctive voice, the track gradually builds with a driving raw undercurrent becoming unleashed in its final moments. A video for the track can be viewed below.

‘Violet’ will also feature last month’s single, ‘Fatal Deluxe’.

On the live front, L.S. Dunes will follow their appearance at this weekend’s When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas by supporting Rise Against in the UK and Europe next year.
