London band Last Witness have announced they will be splitting up later this year.

The quintet are planning a final London show in September as well playing Download Festival later this month.

The following message was released:

“It’s over. After reflecting on the future of the band, both collectively and as individuals, we have decided that this is the end of the road for Last Witness. We have achieved far more than we ever set out to seven long years ago.

The band has broadened our horizons both figuratively and literally. We have met some truly inspiring people, seen some amazing places, and had experiences (good and bad) that we’ll never forget. To everyone that has helped us along the way – there are too many people to thank – we are eternally grateful. Some things are better forgotten, but nothing lasts forever.

So this is the end. No reunions, no comebacks, no encores. Thank you for everything.
