Chicago newcomers New Age Thief are preparing to release their debut album, ‘Stars Align’, next Friday (October 25th) through Wax Bodega. While the duo of vocalist/guitarist Gino Savarino and drummer Brady Corcoran could have simply previewed the album with another single, they’ve decided to reinterpreate a fan-favourite.

‘Under Your Wing’ originally appeared on New Age Thief‘s ‘Memento’ EP earlier this year. However, they decided to re-do the track, adding unconventional synths, a breakbeat, a new vocal melodies, and a new title (‘undryrwing’). The result is a glistening, swirling number that maintains its lyrical sentiment.

While Savarino jokes it “is the ‘anime intro’ version of the song,” ‘undryrwing’ highlights the notion of finding comfort in people who bring ease, and how quickly that peace of mind can disappear.
