Last August there were rumours that a new global release date would brought into place resulting in new releases being released on the same worldwide.

According to Music Week, the global release date ideal will come into effect on Friday July 10th.

Here in the UK, the change means the standard release day of Monday will be moved so releases are synchronized with other territories such as Australia and Germany. In addition, the UK Singles and Album Chart will be moved to Fridays.
