Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun
It’s a hell of a song. The weird guitars on the intro, the dark and apocalyptic lyrics, Chris Cornell’s voice. I (Nicola) loved ‘BadMotorFinger’, but Superunknown’ sets a the bar higher for music production and songwriting. You can’t skip a single song.
Metallica – Battery
Best. Riff. Ever. This song is the anthem of thrash metal, the kind of music I (Michelangelo) love the most.
AC/DC – Whole Lotta Rosie
This is the song that made me (Carlo Alberto) fall in love with rock. When they play it live, it has a killer groove that you are literally forced to headbang along too.
Faith No More – Everything’s Ruined
It is a song full of irony in the lyrics and also in the video. It has one of the best bass line in the music history while the mix of melancholy and angry melodies make it such a powerful song.
Nirvana – In Bloom
An ingenius video and epic drums!
Stone Temple Pilots – Interstate Love Song
One of the best rock ballads ever written by a rock band. STP are forever in our hearts.
Queens of the Stone Age – No One Knows
This is one hell of a song with it’s catchy riffs. It was also a fresh of air after nu-metal.
Foo Fighters – My Hero
We love the video for this. It matches the emotional mood of the song brilliantly. Dave Grohl is a big inspiration for us.
The Beatles – Helter Skelter
This song is the birth of Punk and heavy rock.
A Perfect Circle – Judith
The combination of David Fincher’s video, defiant vocals and killer guitar riffs is fantastic.
