Potential Train Strike To Effect Reading Festival

Yesterday (Monday August 3rd), First Great Western Trains employees announced a three-day strike that will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The strike is likely to effect the Reading Festival as First Great Western is the main rail provider of trains to and from Reading station during the festival.

First Great Western workers will stage industrial action in an ongoing row over job security on the new Hitachi inter-city trains.

With Reading Festival and its Leeds counterpart set to begin on Thursday August 27th, its likely the strike will effect festival-goers travelling back on Bank Holiday Monday (August 31st).
