Here at Already Heard we rarely recommend anything other than music but today we’re suggesting something a little different. Band Aides is a brand new podcast that focuses on the independent music industry.

Over the course of the first series, ‘Volume 1’, creator and host Leander Gloversmith (Artist manager at KMGMT) will be speaking to a variety of bands, managers, record label reps, booking agents, live promoters, publicists, journalists and more.

Leander made the following comment about the show:

“Our focus is on bands, the business, and the business of bands. Our aim is to delve behind the curtain of an industry that can often seem all too opaque, even for those that work and play within it.”

The first episode of Band Aides is titled ‘Pathways’ and sees Leander speaking several names from the industry about how they got started in their profession; Anna Bewers (Booking Agent at The Agency Group), Terry "Beez” Bezer of TeamRock Radio & Scuzz TV, Ryan Bird of Rock Sound Magazine, Ray Harkins of peta2.com & No Sleep Records, Evange Livanos from Synergy Artist Management, Oliver Mitchell of Bedlam Music Managment and Dine Alone Records, Mike Mowery (Outerloop Management), Emma Van-Duyts (Public City PR) and Mark Walker (Kilimanjaro Live).

We think is a worthwhile listen for anyone who is interested in the music industry and what it takes to succeed.

The second episode, ‘Bands’ is set to be released on March 18th and will include comments from members of Architects, Funeral For A Friend and Stray From The Path.

Band Aides can be found on iTunes. More information can be found at bandaidespodcast.com.
