Over the past two weeks, the influx of new releases has been steady, allowing us to get our bearings as we settle into 2018. However, the amount of noteworthy albums goes into overdrive. Simply put, where do we start with this rounds of releases? There is plenty to sink your teeth into.

After a slight (and understandable) delay, Fall Out Boy finally release ‘Mania’ (or ’M A N I A’ depending on who you ask). However, The Xcerts aim to steal the spotlight, and rightly so, as they deliver their brilliant fourth full-length effort – ‘Hold On To Your Heart’.

If you’re wanting something a little heavier and grittier, Of Mice & Men, Black Label Society and Cane Hill are on hand to deliver riffs and breakdowns galore.

On the softer end of the spectrum, Sam Duckworth reignites Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. after a four-year break with ‘Young Adults’. While State Champs’ Ryan Scott Graham releases his second solo record (‘Nearsighted’) under the moniker of Speak Low If You Speak Love.

As for up-and-coming bands, look no further than the trio of California’s emo/indie/punk outfit Super Whatevr, emotionally-charged post-hardcore band Terrible Love, Brighton emo pop-punks Evertim and NYC melodic hardcore trio Closer.
