The sun will soon be setting on Sum 41. However, the Canadian outfit aren’t going out quietly. Their upcoming final album, ‘Heaven :x: Hell’, will see them serve up a double offering with one side embracing their metal tendencies (‘Hell’), with ‘Heaven’ celebrating their (pop-)punk side. It’s where you’ll find today’s track of the day – ‘Waiting On A Twist Of Fate’.
In short, it’s a punk rock onslaught with speedy drums, gang vocals, and a massive, addictive chorus. While guitarist Dave Baksh’s provides some stirring riffing for good measure. ‘Waiting On A Twist Of Fate’ serves as ‘Heaven’s opener, quickly setting the tone for the punk-filled half of Sum 41‘s farewell offering.
Its accompanying video was filmed at Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas, and sees the band and an army of fans take over. The clip also features a cameo from punk legend CJ Ramone.
UK fans will get to see Sum 41 make their final festival appearance on these shores at the Download Festival on June 16th.
‘Heaven :x: Hell’ by Sum 41 is released on Friday, 29th March, 2024 on Rise Records (pre-save).
