The organisers behind the Sonisphere Festival have announced they will be celebrating 40 years of live music at Knebworth House, as part of this years festival.

Classic Album Sundays will be hosting several sessions between 10am – 4pm on the Saturday and Sunday of Sonisphere. The sessions will include playbacks of albums such as ‘Seventh Son of a Seventh Son’ by Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’, ‘Fat of the Land’ by The Prodigy, and Metallica’s ‘Metallica (The Black Album)’ with more to be announced.

To celebrate 40 years of live music at the venue, Knebworth House has expanded its existing collection of memorabilia with rare and exclusive items gathered for a special exhibition, which will be open to the public for a limited time after Sonisphere.

in addition Sonisphere organisers are looking for a cover band to pay tribute to the many acts that have played Knebworth House since 1974.

If you play in or know of a suitable covers band that you think should make the cut, tag them on Sonisphere’s Facebook Page or email a suitable link to sonispherefestivals@kililive.com before 15th May.

Sonisphere 2014 takes place at Knebworth House on 4th – 6th July.
