The band released the following message:
“To all our fans and friends: Summerlin has currently been working on the next stage in the bands evolution. Writing new material, which we love, and taking our music to the next level. Unfortunately during this process we realised that what we are writing is just not Summerlin. So it is with great regret that we are to announce that the April Tour and Hit The Deck will be the last shows we play as Summerlin.
The times we’ve had under this name has been amazing, from the 5 piece pop rock band right to the recent years as a four piece pop punk band. We’ve travelled, played some great shows, played some terrible ones but every step of the way has been awesome thanks to you, the fans. You’ve given us places to stay, bought us food and been part of everything we do. So for all that We want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
However it’s not all bad news. We are going to be continuing working together with a new project. Everything we’ve been working on over the last 6 months has led to this. Although this is quite a scary time for us, we’ve never been more excited and proud about what we’ve created. So we’ll be announcing the new project on these April dates, Which we’re very proud of.
I honestly can’t think of a better way to see it off than the 4 dates in April and the final gig being Hit The Deck festival. We’re working really hard to make these shows great, with old and new songs and also give you a taste of the new project. We hope you can make it out to the shows. Try and get your tickets as quick as you can as these are all small intimate shows.
Hopefully you will all be with us through the next stage of our musical career.
Thank you for everything you have given us so far. We can’t put into words how grateful we are.
Much love
Drew, Ben, Roo and Liam”
