Split Chain Share ‘DLX’ Tracks Featuring Roman Candle and False Reality
Having previously announced plans to release a deluxe edition of their debut album, ‘motionblur’ on September 11th, Split Chain have treated fans to not one but two new tracks from the ‘DLX’ release.
The re-worked versions of ‘Headway’ and ‘Spit’ sees the Bristol nu-gazers collaborate wit their upcoming tour supports. On the former, Piper Ferrari from Las Vegas hardcore outfit Roman Candle adds to the tracks ethereal nature. The latter sees Rachel Rigby of London hardcore quartet False Reality bring a mix of calmness and chaos to the scrappy number.
“Asking both Piper and Rachel to feature on these songs was an absolute no brainer for us. We’re all such big fans of what they do in their own bands and we were so excited to see how they would interpret these songs. Not only that, but being able to have features from bands in both the US and UK scene is so sick,” Split Chain explained. “They both have such distinctive, dynamic and incredible voices and hearing how their own natural flair sits so well in these songs is legitimately insane. They’ve genuinely done the songs incredible amounts of justice, and their unique takes on each have really elevated the songs to a point where they now sit comfortably as their definitive versions. We couldn’t be happier with how the songs have turned out and we’re so excited to be able to tour with them in September.”

Wealthy Women Tackle Domestic Abuse on ‘Shit Breaks’
San Francisco three-piece Wealthy Women continue to preview their upcoming debut album, ‘Children’. Ahead of its August 7th release, they’ve shared a fourth track, ‘Shit Breaks’.
Past singles have seen the band take an outward look, taking on themes of war, immigration, and the machinery of political cruelty. However, for the brooding number, vocalist Peter Sisk turn things inward as he reflects on being told about the domestic abuse from someone close to him who had experienced it. In a lengthy message, Sisk says it was “a wake-up call for me”.
The track’s intense build fits the dark subject matter, allowing Sisk’s words to penetrate.
Here’s what Peter Sisk had to say about ‘Shit Breaks’.
“This song is about the first time someone shared their experience of partner abuse with me. I hope I handled it with as much sensitivity as the youthful me thought he did. It was a wake-up call for me at the time since I was lucky enough to grow up without exposure to violence against women. It’s devastating that these things happen every day, and it’s enraging that it is minimized and/or ignored by society.”
“One of the more odious features of the ascendant Masculinists among us is their wilful blindness to the everyday experience of women. I don’t know if it’s another gift of the algorithmic age or if people have always been so quick to dismiss an experience they themselves have not had, but every woman clutching their car keys in an empty car park understands. Women have to be cautious because there’s no visual difference between ‘bad men’ and ‘not all men’.”
Harker Detail New Album (‘All That Remains’)
On October 2nd, Brighton punk favourites Harker will return with a new album. ‘All That Remains’ will be released through Disconnect Disconnect Records.
The quartet have previewed the album with an anthemic track called ‘Disclocation’. The track sees vocalist and guitarist Mark Boniface reflect on how we cope with his mental health in his 20s. “One of the things I used to do a lot in my twenties was drive at night. I’d wake at 3am for no reason and it would be the only way to calm my head,” says Boniface. “I think I did it a lot as I felt like I had no one to share my negative thoughts with. I have to acknowledge I would have had a lot fewer problems if I just spoke to a therapist or friend. The line ‘stuck between stations’ is a nod to The Hold Steady. Thanks guys for always helping me out on the hardest journeys.”
Alongside ‘Disclocation,’ ‘All That Remains’ will include past singles; ‘Redacted’ and ‘I Ruin Everything’.
Harker will be playing several UK shows around the album’s release.

Hear Hyphen’s Socio-Politically Charged ‘Said What I Said’
Rising punk/rap artist Hypen has delivered a ferocious new track called ‘Said What I Said’.
The track sees the London-based artist blend rap, punk and hip-hop to produce a fierce and thought-provoking track. On it, Hyphen gives a middle finger to the growing right-wing political party, Reform UK, as well as being gaslit by mainstream media.
“Reform UK, potentially the next British Government, is made up of openly racist, sexist people who say they want to privatise the NHS and want to copy some of scariest, most evil policies from the US. They are funded by offshore billionaires and have taken bribes from the Russian government,” he says. “Billionaire funded media is afraid to call them facists. We should not be. The left slept walked into Brexit because we didn’t fully acknowledge the threat we were up against. We can’t make that mistake again. ‘Said What I Said’ is a song about refusing to be gaslit by mainstream media about the threat that the far right really pose. It’s also just a fucking banger. The far right are fascists and would ruin this country to serve their wealthy donors. I said what I said.”
The release of ‘Said What I Said’ comes as Hyphen prepares to play several UK festivals, before supporting Kid Kapichi on their UK tour in November.
