Fresh off their visit to the UK supporting Neck DeepThe Wonder Years have announced the third instalment of their ‘Burst & Decay‘. ‘Volume III’ of the Philadelphian’s stripped-back series will be released on May 9th via Hopeless Records.

Like previous ‘Burst & Decay‘ releases, it will consist of re-imagined versions of past Wonder Years songs. However, it will also include a brand new song titled ‘Junebug’. The song, which you can hear below, is a heartfelt song written by vocalist Dan Campbell about his younger son.

‘Burst & Decay Vol. III’ will also feature guest appearances from Joe Taylor of Knuckle Puck, Sweet Pill‘s Zayna Youssef, and Ryland Heagy of Origami Angel. All will be lending their vocal talents as The Wonder Years reinterpret some old and new favourites. For example, Knuckle Puck‘s frontman will be adding his dynamic vocals to the classic ‘Came Out Swinging’. Zayna Youssef amplifies ‘Oldest Daughter’s raw vulnerability. While Origami Angel‘s Ryland Heagy delivers a tender and sincere performance on ‘I Don’t Like Who I Was Then’.

Elsewhere, ‘Burst & Decay Vol. III’ will see ‘Wyatt’s Song (Your Name)’ receive a lo-fi treatment. Written from Cambell’s oldest son, the new version includes Wyatt’s in-utero heartbeat, acting as the metronome.
