As they prepare to release their self-titled album next month, Gully Boys have shared its latest preview in the form of ‘Break’.
The album opener sees the quartet deliver a punchy number that is lyrically self-destructive, mixed with vulnerability and bitterness. Drawing stylistic inspiration from Mannequin Pussy, Turnstile, and Metric, ‘Break’ thrives with fuzzy guitars, a warm bass tone, and a rising chorus.
The Minneapolis band’s self-titled album explores the recklessness of your early 20s, later-day wisdom, and protecting what matters to them; friends, their hometown, and identity. Alongside ‘Break,’ ‘Gully Boys’ includes the intense ‘Mother’ and two other singles, ‘Love Me 2’ and ‘Bad Day.’
