Even though football isn’t coming home to England, there’s a handful of #NewMusicFriday releases to lift your spirits. For starters, there is the much-anticipated new album from Loathe‘A Stranger To You’ is six years in the making and promises to see the Liverpudlian quartet deliver on their ambitious genre-blurring sound. Goth metalcore mainstays Motionless In White mark their 20th anniversary with their seventh studio album, ‘Decades’. Weaving in elements of hardcore, goth, industrial, and electronic, it is considerably the most assured MIW has sounded in years. Fellow Pennsylvanians, The Menzingers return with another reliable record in the form of ‘Everything I Ever Saw’. You can read more about that in our full review.

Another band making a return this week is As It Is. The Brighton-based Transatlantic pop-rockers’ eponymous album sees them return with a newfound honesty and transparency. Meanwhile, influential post-hardcore band, Quicksand come back with ‘Bring On The Psychics’. The trio’s fifth album promises to bridge the gap between their heavy sound of the 90s and their more recent experimental material.

For those wanting something heavier, there is the new record from Boundaries. ‘Yearning: the unbeautiful after’ sees the Connecticut band live up to their potential, delivering a venomous range of beatdown, hardcore-adjacent metalcore.

When it comes to independent homegrown talent, look no further than Guillotine. Fresh off the back of appearing at the 2000trees Festival, they remerge after a six-year absence with ‘A Lesser Key’. The album is evidence of perseverance, delivering a set of stirring emotional rock songs that make up for lost time.

Among today’s other releases, you can find new music from HakenFlesh CreepRiley!Red Method, and more.
