Dream Theater will mark the 25th anniversary of ‘Images & Words’ with a run of UK shows in April. The tour will see the band perform the album in its entirety along with fan favourites.

Being As An Ocean have now their next album will be titled ‘Waiting For Morning To Come’. It is slated to drop on June 9th, 2017 through Equal Vision Records.

London-based Great Cynics will released their new album, ‘POSI’ on 24th March via Specialist Subject.

Emmure’s SharpTone Records debut will be called ‘Look at Yourself’ and will be released in early 2017.

North West trio Retro Youth have confirmed their debut album, ‘B.R.A.V.E’ will be released on 3rd February 2017 via American label Independent Ear.

Dynamic Brisbane, Australian rockers Awaken I Am have joined the Victory Records roster. They will begin recording their label debut next month with producer Taylor Larson (From First To Last, I See Stars, Periphery).

JT Woodruff (Hawthorne Heights) will be releasing his new album ‘Lonesome’ on January 27, 2017 via InVogue Records.

Canadian metalcore band The Northern have joined Tragic Hero Records. Their label debut, ‘Solstice’, will be released on January 27th.

Festival News

The first names for UK Tech-Metal Fest 2017 have been announced. It sees The Black Dahlia Murder and Obscura being confirmed as headliners. The other names announced are: Aborted, The Arusha Accord, Hacktivist, Ingested, The Algorithm, Oceans Ate Alaska, Dyscarnate, Carcer City, Exist Immortal, Sarah Longfield, Alaska, The Fine Constant, Within Destruction, Aenimus, Toska, The Royal, Hieroglyph, FRCTRD, Fraktions and Nycosia.

UK Tech-Metal Fest will take place at Newark Showground from July 6th to 10th.

Heavy Scotland Festival have added four more bands to its inaugural event – Finntroll, Destruction, Fleshgod Apocalypse and Ingested.

Melodic hardcore band Turning Point have been announced for Outbreak Fest 2017. The band reunited as a tribute to their former vocalist, Frank ‘Skip’ Candelori, who sadly passed away in 2002. Tim McMahon of Mouthpiece will be on vocals. Their appearance is being stated as their first and last ever UK show. Outbreak Fest will take place on April 29-30 at Canal Mills in Leeds.

The likes of Wallflower, Redwood, Nervus, Brightr, Drawstring, Sad Blood, Gun Shy, Pet Library, Lightcliffe, Patrons, Pet Grief, Don’t Worry, Headrush, Pheadra’s Love, Americansignlanguage., Scarecrow Boat, Arid Wave and Night Swimming have been announced for Southampton’s So Punk Fest. The festival takes place from February 3rd to 5th with further details yet to be announced.
