Frank Turner will be playing a special acoustic show at London’s Electric Brixton on May 13th. The show, hosted by White Rabbit, will see Turner perform ‘England Keep My Bones’ in full. The show is to raise awareness of Music Venue Trust and CALM. The event will also see appearances from Skinny Lister, Forgotten Circus and The Wholls. There’ll also be DJ sets from Eddy Temple Morris, The Dirty Rabbit and Adam O. OH.

Katatonia have announced a very special one off show in the UK later this year to celebrate their 25th anniversary as a band as well as the 10 year anniversary on their album ‘The Great Cold Distance’. On the 21st October the band will playing two special sets at Shepherds Bush Empire in London. They’ll also be playing tracks from their upcoming new album ‘The Fall of Hearts’.
Melodic hardcore quartet Napoleon have announced a lengthy UK tour. It will follow the release of their debut album ‘Newborn Mind’ on the 27th May via Basick Records.

Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose will be joining AC/DC on their European tour this summer.
“AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures. As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian’s decision to stop touring and save his hearing. We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment. AC/DC will resume their Rock Or Bust World Tour with Axl Rose joining on vocals. The European stadium tour dates begin on May 7 in Lisbon, Portugal and run through June 12 in Aarhus, Denmark as previously announced. Following this European run of dates with AC/DC, Axl Rose will head out on his Guns N Roses, Not In This Lifetime Summer Stadium Tour. The 10 postponed U.S shows will be rescheduled and announced imminently, also with Axl Rose.”

Of Mice & Men have announced plans to release ‘Live At Brixton’ a double-disc concert set filmed by longtime OM&M collaborator Jon Stone on March 28th, 2015 at London’s Brixton Academy. It will be released through Rise Records on May 27th.

Festival News
Hevy Fest have announced the cancellation of its 2016 festival and has put the event to rest indefinitely.
“Hevy Fest is no more.
After 6 years of incredible bands, legendary hangs, and a lot of monkeys – we’re sorry to announce that Hevy Fest is pulling the plug.
Despite the best efforts of our dedicated team, the festival has become financially untenable. Many things have contributed: Port Lympne being unable to continue hosting the event, the increasingly difficult task of putting together a line-up with more and more exclusives enforced each year leading to difficulties confirming our final headliner, and the pressure to offer good value with spiralling costs. The odds are stacked against anyone taking on the challenge, and they have proven too great for us to overcome.
There is a great community of Hardcore, Punk and Metal supporters in the UK and we hope that other small festivals will be able to grow into this space, and to deliver the event we aspired to.
Ticket holders will be automatically refunded. All monies will be returned in the next 10 working days (including booking fees and postage).
As a small independent event, we want to thank everyone who has supported us over the years.

The final names for Groezrock have been confirmed and sees the remaining members of No Use For A Name being joined by friends to pay tribute to the late Tony Sly. The other additions are Germany’s Caliban and Belgium’s own WE’REWOLVES.
The next round of names for Bloodstock Open Air have been revealed as Vallenfyre, Brutai, The Charm The Fury, and Meta-stasis.
Fort Fest is a new music festival taking place in rural Bedfordshire between September 2nd and 4th. Names confirmed so far include Lonely The Brave, InMe, The Dirty Youth, Grumble Bee and more. Basement and Black Peaks are among a bunch of new additions for Tramlines festival, which will take place from 22nd – 24th July across multiple venues in Sheffield.
Ian Mackaye of legendary post-hardcore band Fugazi has been confirmed for an exclusive Q+A for the inaugural Restless Natives Festival 2016 in Glasgow. It will following a screening of Jem Cohen’s 1999 film ‘Instrument.’ The screening is scheduled for 7.30pm on Thursday 12th May at the African and Caribbean Centre.
