UK metalcore outfit wars are set to release a new EP, ‘almost nothing nearly everything’, through A Wolf At Your Door Records on Friday, August 11th. As a teaser for fans, the quartet have shared a new track called ‘I’m With You’.
It sees wars deliver a gritty and towering slice of anthemic metalcore, allowing the band to broaden out their sound. It’s a sentiment vocalist Rob Vicars shares.
“I’m With You is the most expansive sound on the new EP – we wanted to impart the sonic feeling of running through that open field, dark clouds rushing in, hills rolling away into the distance, hearts in mouths,” explained Vicars.
“It’s a race to shelter, peppered with that euphoric feeling of the potential for escape. It’s probably one of the most outwardly optimistic songs we’ve ever written, leaning on our reliance on one another and even the occasional kindness of our own inner monologue, and it felt fresh and freeing to tackle a song this way. As a follow-up to the previous single ‘Satellite’, it builds on the sound and the narrative and the world we’re creating for this release and we can’t wait to have the full EP out there”.
