Earlier this summer, Creeper shared a track called ‘Headstones’. It was the first taster of their new album, ‘Sanguivore II: Mistress Of Death’. Now, as they prepare to appear at this weekend’s Bloodstock Festival, they’ve shared more details about the record.
Due for release on October 31st through Spinefarm, it sees the horror rockers deliver a thematic sequel to 2023’s ‘Sanguivore’. Using its bloodied vampiric heart as the common thread between both records, ‘Sanguivore II: Mistress Of Death’ is set in the 1980s when hard rock and heavy metal were met with “Satanic Panic” from certain groups. Its 12 songs tell a tale of a vampire band on a rampage, only to meet their match in the form of ‘The Mistress Of Death’.
Creeper vocalist William Von Ghould expands, “Beneath the flashing neon of a distant dream, a rock and roll nightmare is coming true. A vampire band rampages across 1980s America, leaving only corpses behind. But on the horizon, a shadow stirs. Part slasher, part satanic panic nightmare, a new force rises through the mist, ready to hunt the hunter. The Mistress Of Death is a vampire huntress on a path to end this vampire bloodline for good. But can she stake their hearts before the final curtain falls?”

Watch the video for Creeper’s New Single – ‘Blood Magick (It’s A Ritual)’
Alongside the announcement of ‘Sanguivore II: Mistress Of Death,’ Creeper have premiered the album’s second single. ‘Blood Magick (It’s A Ritual)’ sees the quintet maintain the ’80’s theatrical metal sound heard on ‘Headstones’. However, it’s ramped by William Von Ghould’s commanding, Germanic tone, Hannah Greenwood’s bewitching backing vocals, and a solid 80’s riff. It also plays into the demonic power and devilish black humour that Creeper embrace on ‘Sanguivore II’.
Its video, directed by Harry Steel, takes influence from Rob Zombie’s ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ and Oliver Stone’s ‘Natural Born Killers’. It results in what Von Ghould describe as “a blood-soaked, sexed up, psychedelic vampire rock fantasy and easily one of the wildest videos we’ve ever made.”
Creeper will be playing the Ronnie James Dio Stage at Bloodstock this weekend. They’ll end the year supporting Ice Nine Kills on their UK arena tour.
