Coheed and Cambria have shared details of their 10th album. Titled ‘The Father of Make Believe’, it will be released through Virgin on March 14th, 2025.

The album will continue the ongoing narrative of ‘The Amory Wars / Vaxis’ universe. While ‘The Father of Make Believe’ maintains Coheed and Cambria‘s sonic flourishes, it promises to put vocalist and lead guitarist Claudio Sanchez front and centre as the titular character. As a result, it sees Sanchez’s songwriting being more direct as he fights “a war within myself”.

An example of this can be heard on their new single, ‘Searching for Tomorrow’. With its colourful, animated video, the track sees Sanchez and Travis Stever trade guitar riffs within a familiar rhythmic drive, courtesy of drummer Josh Eppard and bassist Zach Cooper. The end result is a vibrant reminder of Coheed and Cambria‘s melodic flair and guitar-led craftsmanship.

On the track, Sanchez commented, “The song is a reminder that always looking for something better in your life robs you of being able to appreciate the good things you already have.”

With a dedicated fanbase, Coheed and Cambria won’t be disappointing them with a limited edition ‘Vaxis Act III: The Father of Make Believe’ box set. It will include various exclusives as well as including the album as a CD and digital download. Fans will be able to get their hands on Blind Side Sonny’s fully wearable and functional helmet and neuro-dynamic display goggles, as well as a hardcover illustrated novella coffee table book. It’ll also include a 11.5” x 35” ‘Vaxis III: The Father of Make Believe’ bedroom poster and a signed Death Certificate of  Siv Trafinder.

Fans can pre-order the ‘Vaxis Act III: The Father of Make Believe’ box set here and pre-save the digital album here.
