Canadian hardcore favourites Counterparts have surprised fans with a new EP. ‘Heaven Let Them Die’ was released today and consists of six new songs.
Coming in at just under 17 minutes, ‘Heaven Let Them Die’ is described by Counterparts vocalist Brendan Murphy as the band’s “most aggressive — sonically, lyrically and visually” release. He adds that it lyrically follows up where 2022’s A Eulogy for Those Still Here’ ended. “It details how I came to terms with all I had foreshadowed in the previous release and how that led me to where I am now. This EP is the most authentic representation of Counterparts to date — honest, harsh and without restraint,” Murphy shared.
The release of ‘Heaven Let Them Die’ is complemented by a double video for ‘A Martyr Left Alive’ and ‘No Lamb Was Lost’. While a vinyl release is available to pre-order through Pure Noise Records.
It is the second time the Ontario group have surprised us with a release this year. In July they shared ‘Live In Toronto’, a recording of a late December 2022 show in their hometown province.
1. A Martyr Left Alive
2. With Loving Arms Disfigured
3. To Hear of War
