As we get nearer to Download Festival 2013, the latest interview in our series of previews sees us speaking to Jamie Graham from promising tech-metallers Heart Of A Coward.

Having recently signed with the mammoth metal label that is Century Media Records, Milton Keynes’ Heart Of A Coward are set for big things in the coming months and what better way to start by playing this weekends Download Festival.

After touring with Devil Sold His Soul, Bleed From Within, and Heights over the past 12 months, the five piece promise to bring one of the heaviest and punishing sets of the weekend.

We caught up with frontman Jamie Graham to find out more.

Already Heard: Can you tell us your name and role in the band?
Jamie: Jamie Graham – I’m the vocalist for the band.

AH: Why should fans check you out at Download?
Jamie: Because we’ll be bringing one of the heaviest sets of the weekend. If you don’t like banging your head and you prefer things a little more chilled out, stay the hell away from the Pepsi Max stage when we play!

AH: What can we expect from your set?
Jamie: Plenty of energy, huge riffs, gratuitous aggression and inappropriate behaviour. And head banging…did I mention the head banging?

AH: What other bands are you looking forward to seeing?
Jamie: Brutality Will Prevail, Hang The Bastard, Empress, Bury Tomorrow, Bleed From Within….the list goes on!

AH: What are your memories of previous Download Festivals?
Jamie: Most of them involve hayfever, mud, a splitting headache and lots of Jager….the rest are a little blurry….that’s a good thing.

AH: Do you have anything else you’d like to say?
Jamie: That we’re massively honoured to play the festival and we are looking forward to seeing you all in the pit!

Catch Heart Of A Coward at 16:25pm on the Pepsi Max Stage on Saturday 15th June.
