Chicago pop-punk band, Knuckle Puck, are currently preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of ‘Copacetic’. However, that’s not stopped the quintet from releasing new music. Today sees them releasing a track titled ‘Nice To Know Ya’.

The three-minute number thrives on its gritty rhythm and Knuckle Puck‘s assured brand of anthemic pop-punk. However, as the band explained, it also sees them somewhat stepping out of their comfort zone.

“When writing Nice to Know Ya, we tried to take an older approach by keeping it as out-of-the-box as we could. This includes uglier chords, a spoken verse, and push-pull lyrics to match the juxtaposition of the verse and chorus. One of our goals for this band originally was to keep the listener guessing with our songwriting, something we are excited to bring back with this song.”

It follows last November’s standalone track, ‘On All Cylinders’Knuckle Puck‘s last record, ‘Losing What We Love’, was released in October 2023. In my review at the time, it saw them continue to the trend of adding to their pop-punk arsenal of songs, rarely straying away from the genre.

Although ‘Nice to Know Ya’ comfortably maintains style, hearing new music from Knuckle Puck is always welcome. Nevertheless, 2025 sees them (partially) looking back with a series of shows performing their debut full-length, ‘Copacetic’, in full.

Although many of those dates are Stateside, Knuckle Puck will be returning to the Slam Dunk Festival in May where it is expected they will be playing the album in its entirety.

May

25th Slam Dunk Festival North – Temple Newsam, Leeds
