To celebrate the release of their impressive debut album, ‘Would You Miss It?’, Long Island, New York group Koyo have released a video for album closing track, ‘Crushed’.
The video sees the band and various friends sing ‘Crushed’s words of unwanted friends who aren’t supportive but expect support from you.
In our #NewMusicFriday roundup, I spoke highly of ‘Would You Miss It?’ highlighting Koyo‘s ability to “write strong hooks and sentimental coming-of-age tales” while embracing hardcore density and melodic flair.
You can listen to ‘Would You Miss It?’ below.
‘Crushed’ by Koyo Lyrics
Selfish lovers all around me
It’s astounding
How you all act like you’re the centers of my world
Where to begin?
You never check in
You never say hey there how you’ve been?
You expect the same like it’s common place
But then you throw it back in my face
I’m over this mess
I’m over this stress
I’m over friends acting like friends of friends
When I’m spread so thin
I think I might quit
Would you miss it
Would you feel the shift?
I’m feeling primed to explode
From all the ruts in the road
Don’t wanna pick up the phone
Or be the one to console
Constant conquest
An easy way to shake this pain
Feels so mindless
You watch me suffer on a day to day
Which is why I resent
That You never check in
Never say hey there how you’ve been?
You expect the same like it’s common place
But then you throw it back in my face
I’m over this mess
I’m over this stress
I’m over friends acting like they’re friends of friends
When I’m spread so thin
I think I might quit
Would you miss it, would you feel things shift?
I’m feeling primed to explode
From all the ruts in the road
Don’t wanna pick up the phone
Or be the one to console
I’m feeling all said and done
I can’t count on anyone
So here’s hateful, selfish song
So you’ll recall
You’re not the only ones
