My Chemical Romance Announce Deluxe ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge’ Release

My Chemical Romance has shared details of plans to release ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (Deluxe Edition)’. It will be released 21 years to the day of its original release- June 6th.

The 3x-platinum certified sophomore album has been remixed, remastered, and expanded, with four bonus tracks recorded for BBC in 2005. The first of these, ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promised)’ can be heard below.

‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (Deluxe Edition)’ will be available on CD, multiple colored vinyl variants, including a stunning zoetrope 2LP, and digitally.

Considered to be My Chemical Romance‘s breakthrough album, its singles included ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promised),’ ‘Helena,’ and ‘The Ghost Of You.’  Its impact within modern rock, and the “emo” knock-on effect it produced, means ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’ questionably defined an era of music. For the band, it took them from being on the Vans Warped Tour to the ‘Taste of Chaos‘ tour to on the fringes of becoming an arena act. It’s something that would come to fruition with 2006’s ‘The Black Parade’.

Since reuniting in late 2019, My Chemical Romance has toured sporadically, playing shows in North and South America, Japan, and Australia. The last shows they played in the UK and Europe was in the summer of 2022. In the same year, the band released a new song titled ‘The Foundations of Decay’.

This summer, they will embark on the ‘Long Live The Black Parade Tour’. It will consist of 11 stadium shows across the United States.
