From sharing covers on YouTube to evolving to her present, high-octane form, Queen Laya shows her intentions with new single – ‘Rage’. It sees her demonstrate her headstrong approach, growing with confidence in every track she releases.
With its wall of distorted guitars, attitude-filled lyrics, hefty breakdown, and catchy chorus, it’s clear Queen Laya isn’t one to be ignored.
Aided by the work of producer Harry Acreman (Sun Arcana, Butterfly Hurricane) and mixing engineer Rhys May (Bring Me The Horizon, Muse, Don Broco), ‘Rage’ captures the internal dialogue of keeping your emotions tied down until you can’t take any more. Influenced by her experiences of receiving therapy, ‘Rage’ is a ferocious and empowering release from Queen Laya.
“‘RAGE’ is about suppressing your emotions so that you appear smaller to others, well behaved to others, in compliance with others, liked by others – to create a safe space within yourself, until all your thoughts and feelings are so congested that you can’t even fathom keeping in even a single ounce of these emotions within you,” explains Queen Laya. “This intense energy eventually manifests itself into uncontrollable rage.”
‘Rage’ by Queen Laya is out now.
