If you’ve been following Already Heard for some time, then you’ll know we’re big admirers of The Dirty Nil. The Canadian trio have repeatedly our hunger for big riffs and equally big choruses. So with last year’s “bloody great” ‘Free Rein To Passions’ getting a deluxe edition reboot, we thought it’d be a good time to highlight The ‘Nil’s greatness once again. ‘Am I The Menace?’ is one of several new tracks included.
Described by frontman Luke Bentham as “a semi-sincere self-examination, compiled from observing others,” ‘Am I The Menace?’ captures The Dirty Nil at their thrilling best in a tight-knit three minutes. Surging with Bentham’s ignited riffs, Sam Tomlinson’s bassline groove, and Kyle Fisher’s punctuated drum work, it’s a sturdy reminder of what makes The Dirty Nil so likeable.
In addition to ‘Am I Menance?’, the deluxe ‘Free Rein To Passions’ will include several demos, as well as The Dirty Nil‘s take on the Bonnie Tyler classic – ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’.
